The problem

Ghana Water Limited is a state-owned utility serving urban water supply across all regions of Ghana — from Accra and Kumasi to the Upper East and Upper West. As a national institution, their digital presence needed to reflect the scale and seriousness of their operations while remaining accessible to the public they serve.

The brief required building a site that could handle a complex organisational structure — 15 regional offices, multiple departments, customer service resources, procurement notices, and an active news feed — while remaining navigable for ordinary citizens looking for basic information.

What I built

Site architecture

Structure designed to serve citizens, staff, and institutional audiences simultaneously.

15-region navigation

Each regional office with its own dedicated section.

Customer service hub

Consumer guide, FAQ, water-saving tips, right to information.

News and media centre

Ongoing institutional communications.

Documents and resources

Tariff proposals, tenders, AGM materials, SOP documents.

Video integration

GWCL documentary and mobile payment tutorials embedded.

Contact and toll-free information

Public-facing utility contact details.

The outcome

A web presence befitting a national utility — structured for complexity, accessible to citizens, and built to scale. The site continues to serve as the primary digital channel for one of Ghana's most significant state institutions.
